Sandro Rosell resigned from the post of president of Barcelona, while the future of the club will be decided at the meeting that was held from 18:00 between senior officials of the Catalan club.
These actions come a day after the Supreme Court of Spain has decided to open proceedings to speculation that Rossel had pocketed money from the transfer of Neymar from Santos in the summer.
Rosell, who took the club out towards Joan Laporta in 2010, has denied that he abused Neymar transfer case, but could face a prison term of up to eight years if convicted.
Barca, Vice President Josep Maria Bartomeu, and Javier Faus, Rosell had met with in his house in the morning, along with Vice President Joanjo Castillo, general director Antoni Rossich and communications director Albert Montagut.
Rosell mandate expires in 2016 and if he resigns Thursday, Bartomeu will take towards the club until the next election.
The press conference where Rosell is expected to speak to the media will be held at 19:30 am. Also Josep Maria Bartomeu expected, actual zëvëndësprsidenti, lead the club until the end of the season.
