AS Livorno Calcio have parted company with coach Davide Nicola, the eighth Serie A club to make such a change this season.
On a day when the Livorno-born Massimiliano Allegri left AC Milan, his home-town club opted to dismiss Nicola after the bottom side's 2-0 home loss against Parma FC at the weekend. Livorno announced their decision with a brief note on their website, thanking the coach for his efforts, but the name of Nicola's successor was not announced.
Nicola, 40, a former Genoa CFC and Torino FC defender in his playing days, coached AC Lumezzane in Lega Pro from 2010 to 2012 before joining Livorno in Serie B and winning promotion last term via the play-offs.
